Teams is rolling out a tiny update that will make your meetings smoother.

Have you ever sat in a Microsoft Teams meeting and winced every time someone said, “next slide, please”?
We’ve all been there.

If your business hosts a lot of virtual meetings or webinars, you’ll know the pain of awkward pauses and clumsy transitions when switching between presenters. But finally, there’s a fix—and it’s surprisingly simple.

Microsoft has started rolling out a smart little upgrade to Teams that could make a big difference in how your meetings flow.

First, a quick refresher if you’re new to Teams: it’s Microsoft’s unified communication hub that brings together video calls, chat, file sharing, and collaboration tools in one platform. It’s designed to keep teams connected and productive, whether you’re working remotely, in-office, or in a hybrid setup.

Now, the update: Microsoft is introducing a feature that allows multiple participants to control the presentation slides during a Teams meeting or webinar.

Previously, only one person could advance the slides, leaving others to constantly ask the presenter to move things along. It not only disrupted the meeting’s flow but also made co-presenting feel clunky and disjointed.

This new functionality changes that. The meeting organiser can now assign slide control access to multiple people, making it easy for each presenter to take over when it’s their turn—no interruptions, no awkward requests.

It may seem like a small improvement, but it goes a long way in making meetings feel more polished and professional.

The rollout has already begun, starting with the Windows desktop version of Teams. It looks like co-presenters will be chosen when setting up the meeting—hopefully keeping the process just as smooth as the presentation experience.

Honestly, this is one of those features that should have existed years ago. But hey, we’ll take it.

Between this and other recent improvements—like in-call real-time chat, ideal for those who’d rather type than talk—it’s clear that Microsoft is focused on making Teams more intuitive and user-friendly.
