Supporting the DGC Parents Association Golf Day
Last week, GZD had the privilege of being part of two exciting local community events that brought together families, educators, and young athletes for fun, competition, and camaraderie.
On Thursday, 5 September 2024, we proudly sponsored the DGC Parents Association Golf Day , held at Mount Edgecombe Country Club. This annual event is a highlight on the school calendar and brings together parents, teachers, and supporters for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.
As a proud sponsor, GZD was delighted to contribute to the success of this well-organized event, which not only promotes healthy living but also strengthens the bonds within the Durban Girls’ College (DGC) community.
“Supporting local initiatives like the DGC Golf Day allows us to give back to the communities that support us,” said Grant Olivier and Rajesh Harie.

Championing Youth Sports at the U16 Water Polo Tournament
Following the success of the golf day, GZD continued its community involvement by supporting the U16 DGC Water Polo Tournament , held from Friday to Sunday, 6–8 September 2024.
This year’s tournament attracted 15 schools from across South Africa , showcasing the immense talent and dedication of young water polo players. The event provided a platform for aspiring athletes to compete at a high level while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
GZD was thrilled to be part of such an inspiring weekend of sport. Our sponsorship helped enhance the experience for participants and spectators alike, with exciting giveaways and prizes to keep the energy high throughout the tournament.
A special congratulations goes to St Anne’s Diocesan College , who emerged as champions after a series of intense matches. Their performance was a testament to their hard work, coaching, and passion for the game.
We were also excited to announce our own competition winner, Herman , who walked away with a brand-new Lenovo tablet !
