When you’re writing emails, reports, or presentations, it’s easy for spelling mistakes and typos to slip through the cracks. These small errors can harm your professional image, especially when communicating with clients or partners.

But here’s some good news: Windows 11 comes equipped with built-in spell check and autocorrect features that help eliminate those embarrassing mistakes. These tools are simple to activate, and once they’re set up, you won’t need any additional software to ensure your text looks sharp and professional.

Wondering how to activate them?

Start by opening Windows Settings. From there, select Time & Language and navigate to the Typing section. You’ll find options like ‘Autocorrect misspelled words’ and ‘Highlight misspelled words’, which can be easily enabled.

These handy features will work in most apps, automatically correcting errors and flagging potential spelling issues. You can also enable word predictions as you type by switching on text suggestions.

If your business operates in multiple languages, don’t forget to activate the ‘Multilingual text suggestions’ feature. This will offer word suggestions in any language you use.

While Windows 11’s spell check works across most applications, some (like Notepad and Outlook) require additional setup.

In Notepad, for example, you’ll need to click the gear icon and adjust the settings to enable spell check.

Since your team probably spends a lot of time sending emails in Outlook, it’s worth turning on grammar tools here. Simply go to Editor Settings under the Options tab, and you’ll be able to enable autocorrect, text predictions, and even tone adjustment.

For teams using Microsoft Edge for browsing, you can also set up spell check and grammar tools by heading to Settings, selecting Languages, and enabling the necessary options.

By activating spell check and autocorrect in Windows 11, you’ll not only reduce small errors but also help your business operate more efficiently.
